Assist the executive housekeeper by inspecting rooms, training new room attendants, and acting as a room attendant when not inspecting. Helps ensure that product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel, brand and/or company business objectives. Job Description

  • Maintain proper inventory levels, managing cost per room for supplies and labor (i.e. bed & bath linen reuse and laundry operation).
  • Educate and train room attendants as assigned in compliance with brand, governmental and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret property management system reports.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other team members.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist with housekeeping staff during high-volume periods.
  • Inspect all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest room supplies, equipment, linens and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction.
  • Advise associates of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action. Provide adequate retraining as needed.
  • Routinely perform all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds as well as vacuuming and cleaning guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Comply with special needs and requests of the guests.
  • Stay 100% current with brand standards and ensure each guest room meets or exceeds all brand standards.
  • Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining green initiatives (i.e. energy conservation).
  • Inspect rooms daily and record the condition of rooms to ensure brand and company standards are maintained or exceeded.
  • Ensure heating and cooling units are properly cleaned and set.
  • Regular and punctual in attendance.
  • Follow procedures for security of lost and found items.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and endure various physical movements throughout the day.
  • Able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Able to think clearly, remain calm and solve problems under pressure using good judgement.
  • Able to lead by example, teach and be responsible for the actions of others.
  • Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Interact with the public, team members and guests in a positive manner.
  • Anything that contributes to a positive culture and the success of the hotel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years previous experience in a similar position including some supervisory training or experience.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • PMS experience preferred (Opera, Visual Matrix, OnQ, etc.).
  • Second languages preferred.
