Job Summary

Performs patient examinations and related activities; performs patient exams in accordance with established protocols, demonstrates knowledge of digital environment; reviews images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintains patient records; assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocol of checking at least two patient identifiers prior to completing examination, and patient's clinical history is complete; completes associated paperwork, performs QA/QC on equipment, as needed. Stocks exam rooms with basic supplies, starts IV's and/or administer contrast, as needed, maintains and adheres to accepted sterile techniques and provides clean environment within examination area. Demonstrates appropriate computer skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates knowledge and skill to appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors, and vendors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Knowledgeable of Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practice.

Performance Expectations

Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and precepted phases of orientation to your job. Demonstrate aptitude with equipment including, but not limited to, Multi-line phone system, Windows based computers, Epic software, Healthstream, printers, fax, copier, manual/digital blood pressure monitor, Nuclear Camera/Software, Radiant software, PACS software. Demonstrate aptitude with proper telephone etiquette and communications skills. Must be able to enter complete detailed documentation into Epic, initiate IV access, maintain and monitor QC Records for Health Department and Quarterly Inspections. Demonstrate aptitude with efficiency and teamwork. When your tasks are complete, assist coworkers or ask manager for additional tasks. Demonstrate aptitude and desire to cross train for other positions within the clinic. Cross trained employees enables our department to provide quality, efficient, effective care to our patients.

Education/Skills

Graduate from an approved AMA school of radiologic technology required.

Work Experience

Required to have two years of experience in nuclear medicine.

Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE

Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology by ARRT or CNMT. MS License required.
