Purchasing Manager

Description:

• Over see the procurement team and report into the Director of Operations and Supply Chain. - Create team strategies around purchasing -, monitor supplier performance, and implement valid exception message generated by MRP - Manage Kanban (physical card system) replenishment of purchased components required for production -Update current SOPs on invoicing, POs and - Negotiate contracts with current and new vendors - Assure that problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to suppliers and resolved in a timely manner. - Continually work to improve quality, delivery and total costs through programs which improve overall quality of suppliers, clearly define requirements with the engineering department and suppliers - Implement lead time reductions with all suppliers, with specific focus on preferred and strategic suppliers. - Update and maintain ERP system Item Master and Purchasing records within scope of authority. - Respond timely to all requests from the production department for support and assistance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Manufacturing buying experience -Ability to understand and analyze MRP outputs, stock and status reports and component shortage reports - Familiar with basic shop floor control practices and WIP management. - Knowledge and ability to calculate, implement and sustain operation of a physical Kanban system - BOM structures, Configuration Management and Material Review Board. - Ability to be versatile and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Working knowledge of ISO 9001.2000.
