Job Summary:

Our federal client in Washington, DC are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee the planning, development, and delivery of complex technical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, driving project timelines, ensuring quality deliverables, and maintaining a collaborative environment. As a Technical Project Manager, you will bridge the gap between business goals and technical solutions, ensuring that both the development teams and stakeholders are aligned, and projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of multiple technical projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and track project progress, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Test management of Quality Assurance functions including Statement of work (SOW), Proof of concepts, Test strategy, Test Planning, Effort estimation, Test execution and Tools.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and define project success criteria.
  • Act as the point of contact for project status updates, presenting progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear communication between business units, development teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, designers, and other departments.
  • Facilitate meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive project progress and resolve any issues.
  • Mentor team members and encourage an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively resolve project roadblocks and address any technical challenges.
  • Escalate issues to leadership when necessary and suggest corrective actions.
  • Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies and best practices within teams.
  • Serve as Scrum Master when needed, ensuring effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and validation of project outputs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in software development, IT infrastructure, or similar technical environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and project management frameworks.
  • Experience managing large-scale, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), DevOps, and modern software engineering practices is a plus.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is a plus.
