Needham Public Schools is an inclusive, dynamic, and multicultural community seeking an energetic and skilled part-time office aide to join our team. To enhance our goals of supporting every child, Needham Public Schools seeks candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. The part-time office aide will also support students at lunch and recess.

Hours

8 hours per week (Schedule negotiable)

Essential Job Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Complete light office work
  • Support office staff by answering phones and assisting with receptionist tasks
  • Supervise student lunch and recess, with support from additional staff members
  • Provide class coverage as needed
  • Supervise afternoon bus departures
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions
  • Understanding of middle school-aged children
  • Ability to make decisions at the moment to ensure the safety of all students
  • Ability to establish a supportive environment for all students
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members
  • Ability to maintain confidential information regarding students and families
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand and work both indoors and outdoors for multiple hours
  • Interest in and appreciation for middle school students

Qualifications

Experience working with children and/or adolescents in active settings is a plus.
