About The Position

  • Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit **Job Specialty:** ICU **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights (18:45 - 07:15); Every Other Weekend **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Oregon License Required (90-day Emergency License available) **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS **Must-Have:** Acute Care, Critical Care skills **Job Description:** - Work in a 16-bed ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. - Provide care for patients with cardiac and respiratory diagnoses. - Required to titrate common drips such as Levophed, Propofol, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and Precedex. - Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors. - Support provided by nursing aids with a 1 CNA ratio. - Work alongside in-house hospitalists or intensivists and respiratory therapists. - Utilize RT Equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP continuously available. - Read telemetry strips; Monitor techs not available. - Participate in float rotation to PCU unit when necessary for low census. - Adhere to hospital scrub policy with approved colors: Black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, and khaki. - Complete 12-hour unit-specific orientation over two shifts. - Observe hospital's cancellation policy, which allows up to three shift cancellations per contract. - Charting via Meditech system. - Fulfill holiday requirements including 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
