Functional Role

• Maintains the operational security posture for assigned information systems or programs.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Performs threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement strategies to address identified risks.
• Creates, updates, and maintains information system security documentation, including system security plans, risk assessments, and security control implementation descriptions.
• Conducts regular risk assessments and security audits to identify and mitigate potential security risks. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Provides security awareness training to personnel to ensure they understand and adhere to security policies and procedures.
• Participates in incident response activities, including investigating security breaches, conducting forensic analysis, and implementing remediation measures

Must Have Skills

• Ability to obtain required security clearance for this project: Public Trust.
• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. Master s degree preferred.
• Must have current or previous government experience
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated working experience as an Information Assurance Security Engineer.
• In-depth understanding of IA principles, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with threat modeling and risk management practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required
