Job Summary: The Vice President of Information Technology (IT) manages the internal IT staff and external IT support and is responsible for all related IT monitoring and maintenance and installation. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the IT department’s operational and strategic planning.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware and software.
  • Manage IT staffing, including supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions.
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Manage financial aspects of the IT department, including purchasing, budgeting and budget review.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.
  • Negotiate and administer vendors, consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Firewall configuration and monitoring
  • Application/database account access logging, monitoring and auditing.
  • Manage monitoring of internal network traffic, server performance and utilization, application/database performance and utilization, data backup on premises and offsite.
  • Education & Experience
  • A BA/BS degree in related area is required. MS preferred. Social Services Agency experience preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a similar position and five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications such as the following from Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP). CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+) and/or VMware (VCA/VCP/VCAP) are required.
  • A valid and non-restricted driver’s license is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer.

  • The employee must be able to travel to other agency locations.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move case records weighing up to 25 pounds.
