Basic Purpose:

Provide expert level technical support for designing, maintaining, and optimizing global network security systems. Create and enforce global network security standards, guidelines, and procedures. Implement secure network architectures and solutions. Perform technology and operational risk assessments, identifying control gaps and risky or problematic configurations. Work with stakeholders to drive remediation of security issues. Promote security awareness and advise on secure operational practices across IT and the organization.

Experience/Skills:

Must have proficiencies:

  • Expert - securing & managing Palo Alto Firewalls & Prisma Access
  • Expert - network security standards, methodologies, and best practices
  • Expert - Understanding of networking protocols, threats, and risks
  • Understanding of network access control (NAC) solutions and methodologies
  • Proven track record designing & operating secure network technologies
  • 5+ years experience in network security operations and design
  • Nice to have proficiencies:
  • Forescout network access control
  • Web Application Firewall (F5 and/or Cloudflare)
  • Secure routing & switching
  • Scripting, automation & orchestration
  • Threat Hunting
  • Cisco ISE / RADIUS authentication
  • Data center segmentation technologies
  • Network authentication methodologies (PSK, certificates, SAML, etc.)

Competencies:

  • Must have a security mindset, well versed in general security principles and best practices.
  • Professional security certifications are a plus. (CISSP, GIAC, CEH, etc.)
  • Ability to work within a team and with limited direction and guidance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
