Job Title: Senior Construction Estimator

Location: Atlanta, GA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator with extensive experience in commercial construction, particularly in ground-up new construction projects and interior construction with a focus on fast-paced, big-box retail projects, multi-site retail programs, renovations, interior buildouts, tenant improvements, and open store remodels. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in estimating and a proven ability to lead preconstruction efforts and collaborate effectively with both internal and external teams.

Projects:

• Light Industrial / Warehouse / Distribution
• Commercial: Big-Box, Restaurants, fuel stations, convenience stores, and retail

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings and specifications, and distribute them to bidding subcontractors.
• Create comprehensive estimates and detailed take-offs for each project, developing cost analyses and evaluating subcontractor proposals.
• Negotiate with subcontractors to ensure that all trades include the full scope of work.
• Create and maintain a cost database for labor and material pricing.
• Lead preconstruction team members through estimating, proposal, and value engineering processes.
• Collaborate with clients to value-engineer projects within their budget constraints.
• Provide mentorship to Junior Estimators and assist with training as needed.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and requirements.
• Enhance relationships with clients, architects, and engineers to foster long-term partnerships.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Collaborate closely with the Operations Team and prepare all documentation required for project turnover.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Estimator in commercial construction, preferably with a General Contractor.
• Extensive experience in retail interior construction and ground-up new commercial construction.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively respond to inquiries and provide detailed information.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, commercial construction estimating principles, and industry trends.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
• Intermediate skill level with technology and computer systems; experience with estimating software tools is highly valued.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam software is a plus.
• Ability to navigate client online portals with ease.
• Excellent organizational skills, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong familiarity with reading and understanding blueprints and specifications.
• High School Diploma required; an Associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
