The Residence Inn Oceanfront Virginia Beach is now recruiting an energetic, Front Desk Agent to join our team.

What You Will Bring To This Role:

The Front Desk Agent is primary responsible for warmly greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel in our continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:

  • Greet guests and complete the registration process to include, but not limited to, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirmation of guest information and room rate, selection of rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing a welcome packet and ensuring guest knows location of room.
  • Assist guests with check-out including, but not limited to, ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted for, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment, making change and processing gift certificates and cards.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of hotel information including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
  • Field guest complaints, conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction, as needed
  • Receive, input, retrieve and relay messages to guests, as needed
  • Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance is neat, clean and professional at all times
  • Create fun and memorable experiences for guests
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.


Required Characteristics:

  • Previous hotel front desk experience preferred, Marriott brand a plus.
  • Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • The hospitality industry requires that employees present a professional image at all times. This includes providing courteous and attentive customer service. Employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Uniform standards will be explained during orientation. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Regular attendance in accordance with company standards is essential for success in this position.
