Join a unique combination of creative professionals as ourMotion Designer & Editor. The Motion Graphic Designer & Editor preferably comes from a creative agency environment and will have a mixed background in design, animation and video editing. The ideal candidate is a designer first, an animator second and video editor third. This job will require the ability to conceptualize videos and animated pieces in partnership with content experts, executing on that concept with a variety of creative tools and creative approaches.

The Job:

  • Support design and creative teams in developing high quality, engaging animation and video assets for use across a wide variety of media for social, mobile, and desktop display
  • Design and execute cutting edge motion graphics to bring our videos to life
  • Build ground-up animated assets for social media platforms, optimize and export various file types
  • Some of the work may be integrated overlays with live action, and others may be full-scale animated videos
  • Deliver concept frames, video files, and storyboards throughout various stages of the production process
  • Integrate transitions, stings, lower thirds, etc., for various video projects
  • Edit video and audio footage into high end production
  • Create 2D and 3D animations from scratch
  • Work as a trusted and valued member of a creative team devoted to achieving exceptional results

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Digital illustration skills
  • Color correction experience
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Must have a creative agency background
  • History of telling compelling stories through unique creative assets and visual interactions
  • Experience working directly with clients to gather requirements, pitch design concepts, iterate on content, and deliver the final product
  • Ability to create projects on your own but within a larger project

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in graphic design, motion design, or computer graphics and animation
  • Minimum 5 years of working in video production, motion graphics and/or animation experience field
  • Expert mastery of Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience editing video assets (Premiere preferred)
  • Experience, conceptualizing, creating, and animating motion graphics, and or relevant internship or part time experience (Adobe After Effects experience mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of typography, photography, and illustration

Location

History Factory headquarters is in Washington, D.C. This position can be based remotely within the United States and/or hybrid in the Washington, D.C. area.
