CGPS seeks an outstanding, student-focused Technology Teacher to join our technology

team. We follow the Project Lead the Way curriculum that uses activities, projects, and problem-based learning experiences with real-world applications. For 2024-25, all 6th-8th grade classes will be following the Design and Modeling course. Educators must be certified by Project Lead the Way in order to teach the course. CGPS will pay all associated costs for attending the course training.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach Middle School Technology classes, following the PLTW Design and Modeling course for 2024-25
    • Starting in 2025-26, course offerings will expand to include Computer Science for Innovators & Makers, and in 2026-27 will include Automation & Robotics
  • Collaborate with the Technology Department Head and department colleagues on instructional practices, assessment practices, and enhancements to the curriculum
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management and the ability to establish and maintain a collaborative, supportive learning environment
  • Establish student safety protocols for tools and equipment
  • Model and teach acceptable use of technology and digital citizenship concepts and skills
  • Provide faculty, students, and staff with guidance on using educational technology
  • Collaborate with faculty in other departments to explore opportunities for interdisciplinary projects
  • Lead clubs or robotics teams, as assigned
  • Responsible for coverage of duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Experience and/or familiarity in some or all of the following: 3D Modeling Software, microcontrollers, Vex Robotics, and other software and hardware platforms
  • Experience teaching in a classroom setting
  • Passionate about encouraging young people to take on complex and challenging ideas
  • An intellectual curiosity, an aptitude for learning, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning
  • A demonstrated ability to innovate, problem-solve, and differentiate the curriculum to support and enrich the learning experience for all students
  • Experience with troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues relevant to classroom technology and STEAM education
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills and a desire to work with a team

Compensation

The salary range is $71,000.00 - $118,500.00 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We also offer rich benefits, exceptional paid time off and a warm supportive culture.
