At TalentWealth Recruiting we assist independent Wealth Management firms across the country in hiring top professionals to join their practices. Our client in Tampa is an independent RIA managing over 300 million in client assets and currently hiring for a Wealth Management Associate position.

This individual will work with experienced financial planners, providing financial planning support. Key responsibilities include the preparation of financial plans, portfolio administration, investment research and analysis, and coordination of client service needs with team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data-gathering calls and meetings with advisors and/or clients to obtain information required to develop or update the financial plan
  • Assisting with developing, implementing, and updating financial plans using planning software provided by the firm
  • Working collaboratively with advisors to put the finishing touches on the plans and assist in client delivery as needed
  • Using appropriate software and calculators to run calculations, projections, and side-by-side comparisons (e.g., mortgages, 529 plans, and social security)
  • Communicate with the firm’s Advisors and other allied professionals, as needed.
  • Collaborating with eMoney for troubleshooting on plans, if needed
  • Analyzing clients’ income, taxes, insurance policies, expenses, assets, and debt (at least annually), updating this information in CRM, and planning software
  • Uploading clients’ estate planning documents, tax returns, insurance policies, investment account statements, household balance sheets, and all other relevant documentation to their household in CRM.
  • Reviewing clients’ goals and risk profiles with the advisor
  • Reviewing clients’ planning objectives to help identify opportunities to meet their needs

Core Strengths

  • Familiarity with plan creation using financial planning software
  • Excellent knowledge and communication of financial planning concepts and terminology
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to explain products, such as mutual funds, stocks, bonds, insurance, and annuities
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Ability to proofread and quality check own work in accordance with firm/regulatory criteria
  • Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely, efficient, and effective manner
  • Demonstrated experience in using available resources to answer questions and resolve problems
  • Ability to learn and efficiently use multiple technology platforms
  • Additional Skills and Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • CFP a plus
  • Prior experience in financial services is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the field is desirable, although not required, as this is an entry-level financial planning position with career development.
  • Candidates must be enrolled or have completed a financial planning educational program leading to certification (i.e., CFP, FPQP)
  • B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, productive, works well with a team, and independently
  • Ability to identify, meet, and follow through with client needs and requirements with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of CRM, eMoney, and Morningstar a plus
