Role: SharePoint Developer - Hybrid - DC - DDOT

Client: DDOT (Washington DC)

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Rate: $50 - $70

Core Knowledge

Demonstrated experience in creating lists, libraries, workflows, and permissions across numerous administrations of the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) under the tenancy of the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO); the developer must be well-versed in these areas to transition smoothly between environments.

Demonstrated experience configuring B2B collaboration between OCTO tenant and DDOT. Experience configuring Microsoft cloud settings to enable collaboration with other cloud environments, particularly companies working on long-term infrastructure projects for DDOT who require access to the government environment for their external resources to collaborate.

Work with OCTO tenant technical resources to configure inbound and outbound cross-tenant access with the tenant in the other cloud in compliance with OCTO's security protocols as outlined by their Chief Information Officer (CISO) requirements.

Ability to function in the cloud or on-premises environment to provide support and backup to the SharePoint architect who is currently supporting both environments.

Site Management:

Demonstrated experience in creating and managing sites, content types, and features is essential in both environments.

SharePoint Solution Development:

Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining SharePoint applications using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), SharePoint Designer, and Visual Studio.

Demonstrated experience configuring Microsoft PowerApps.

Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining Nintex Forms and Workflows.

Ability to create Hub Sites and utilize emerging features such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and Loop.

Demonstrated experience developing custom web parts, add-ins, and integrations with other enterprise applications.

Ability to support users of existing on-premises SharePoint applications and solutions to SharePoint Online sites as part of the SharePoint team support.

System Configuration and Management:

Ability to create Nintex Forms and Workflows

Demonstrated experience configuring and managing SharePoint environments in both on-premises and cloud settings.

Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining SharePoint farms and architecture, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Manage site collections, security, and content databases.

Compliance and Security:

Ensure all SharePoint deployments comply with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer's (OCTO) security standards and policies.

Implement and maintain secure access controls and data protection mechanisms.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with IT, project management, and business teams to define requirements and translate business needs into effective SharePoint solutions.

Provide support and training to end-users on SharePoint functionality and custom applications.

Collaborate with external vendors and consultants on complex projects.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain thorough documentation for all SharePoint procedures and configurations.

Reports and presentations on SharePoint system status and project progress to stakeholders as requested.

Server and Network Management

Basic Server Skills: Understand server setups, network configurations, and database management (typically SQL Server for SharePoint).

Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Ability to work collaboratively with the server management group to monitor server health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot issues related to server performance and application errors.

Security and Compliance

Data Governance: Knowledge of both environments' compliance policies and data governance tools will ensure that data handling continues to meet organizational and regulatory standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in SharePoint development, both on-premises and online.

Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PowerShell, and Microsoft 365 suite.

Microsoft PowerApps and SQL Server for configuration and reporting

Nintex Forms and Workflows on-premises and in cloud

Microsoft 365 Copilot and Loop.

Strong understanding of SharePoint API and experience integrating other enterprise systems.

Knowledge of government IT security standards and regulations stipulated by the OCTO Chief Information Officer (CISO).
