Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Field Project Engineer to join our team. The Field Project Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various aspects of construction projects on-site. This role involves coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising construction activities on-site. Ensure that project work aligns with the project plan, specifications, and schedule.
  • Quality Control: Monitor construction processes and materials to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications. Conduct inspections and tests as required.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety regulations and procedures on-site to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct safety meetings and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and inspection records. Assist in preparing reports for project stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process. Coordinate with project managers and other team members to implement solutions.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee the work of subcontractors and ensure that they comply with project requirements and quality standards. Address any performance issues as needed.
  • Budget and Scheduling: Assist in monitoring project budgets and schedules. Help track expenses and ensure that the project stays on budget and on schedule.
  • Communication: Serve as a point of contact between the project team, clients, and other stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication and address any project-related questions or concerns.
  • Field Engineering: Provide technical support and guidance for on-site construction activities. Review and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a field engineering role within the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy civil projects.
  • Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
