Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead and establish a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) within our federal government operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies and governance, coupled with a strong background in building and operationalizing CCoEs. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in cloud architecture, particularly within the context of federal regulations and security requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Define and implement the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Cloud Center of Excellence.

Develop cloud governance frameworks, best practices, and operational models tailored for federal government requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote cloud adoption and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Design and architect secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions that meet federal government standards.

Lead the implementation of cloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions.

Provide hands-on technical leadership in the migration of on-premises systems to cloud environments.

Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to federal security regulations, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and other relevant compliance standards.

Work closely with security teams to design and implement robust cloud security architectures.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the CCoE, staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Provide training and mentorship to teams on cloud technologies, governance, and best practices.

Act as a key liaison between technical teams and government stakeholders, effectively communicating complex cloud strategies and solutions.

Support proposal development and engage with clients to understand their cloud needs.

Required Skills/Qualifications

7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with 3+ years in a leadership role within a Cloud Center of Excellence.

Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud, including certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).

Experience in multi-cloud environments is a highly preferred not required

Proven track record of successfully establishing and operationalizing a CCoE, preferably in a federal government setting.

Strong understanding of federal security and compliance requirements (FISMA, FedRAMP, etc.).

Expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud security.

Strong leadership and project management skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Education

Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Master s degree preferred.
