The Fabric coordinator is the key liaison between the initial design intended by the Creative Director and the final products that are delivered to the customers to guarantee best-in-class quality and on-time execution of the product line in alignment with the overall company aesthetic. This coordinator owns and is responsible for quality control of fabric/trims/embroidery of the line and efficient product delivery and bulk approvals to deliver product execution true to Design aesthetic intent. This position directly reports to the Product Development Manager

Responsibilities

• Work with Product development manager for seasonal fabric development and sourcing

• Meet with mill partners regularly to make tailored fabric selections based on seasonal needs keeping in mind cost, lead time, and minimums.

• Negotiate cost seasonally

• Nominate and partner with key mills

• Drive the fabric ordering process at proto, sales sample, and bulk stages.

• Coordinate and track proto, sales sample, and bulk fabric shipments. Ensure PI goes out on time from vendors to mills at every stage

• Partner with manager to develop and track seasonal fabric and print budgets

• Meet fabric deliverables as per calendar.

• Regularly update and maintain seasonal fabric charts and communicate details/changes with cross-functional teams.

• Initiate production lab dip, strike off, and handloom requests with mills advising clear calendar deadlines.

• Check in lab dips, strike-offs offs, and handlooms upon receipt and review with design and advise comments back to mills.

• Maintain the fabric library, regularly making space for new headers, purging outdated headers, and maintaining core archives.

• Review fabric test reports to ensure company guidelines and standards are met and send approval comments.

• Bulk submit approvals

• Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives related to cost, delivery, and quality.

• Communicate material quality standards to mills.

• Offer expertise in fabric construction, innovation, and technical aspects.

• Willingness to travel abroad seasonally as needed.
