Backup Administrator

Summit Technologies, Inc. has an opening for a Backup Administrator. In this role you will ensure the integrity and availability of our client’s data through effective backup and recovery solutions. The candidate shall be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of backup systems, as well as managing data replication and disaster recovery strategies. You may work on-site one day a week.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery solutions to uphold data integrity and availability.
• Monitor backup jobs and system performance, and promptly troubleshoot any arising issues.
• Develop and maintain backup policies, procedures, and documentation, as well as conduct regular testing of backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with fellow IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of backup systems with other infrastructure components.
• Evaluate and recommend new backup technologies and solutions to meet evolving business needs.
• Manage data replication and offsite backup process and support disaster recovery efforts.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for backup-related matters.
• Collaborate closely with vendors to address hardware issues and replacements.

Experience:

• 10 years of proven IT experience with 5 years in Backup Administration.
• Experience utilizing backup software (e.g., NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Backup Exec).
• Experience using virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in backup technologies and hands-on experience with storage management tools and software.
• A history of implementing and managing backup solutions in a corporate environment.

Education:

• Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information technology, or related field.

Required Certifications:

• IAT II or higher 8570/8140 certification (CompTIA Security+ ce, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP).
• Enterprise Storage Certification
