Job Description & Requirements

- Responsible for the overall management and operations of Surgical Services.
- Provides strategic direction and operational leadership for all initiatives and programs within scope of responsibility.
- Promotes and enforces departmental compliance with general safety and infection control standards.
- Ensures effective and efficient patient care.
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises the OR Clinical Director, Chief CRNA, Nurse Manager, Office Manager, Surgical Services IS Coordinator, Nurse Practitioner, Ortho-Trauma Clinical Coordinator.
- Provides direction in the development and management of personnel within responsible departments.
- Evaluates and provides coaching to employees within scope of responsibility.
- Continuously monitors patient and employee satisfaction.
- Oversees Surgical Services budget development, implementation, and compliance
- Serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members
- Prepares and presents operational and financial reports/projects as required
- Monitor market conditions and costs
- Recommends pricing levels and packaging
- Assist with managed care negotiations and development
- Design programs to extend the market share for Surgical Services
- Stay abreast of changes in healthcare and Surgical Services
- Regulation**:
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
- Master’s Degree in Health Administration or related field; required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role (i.e. product line manager or executive level ambulatory care/inpatient surgery setting); required
- Licensed as a registered nurse, required
- Knowledge of physicians’ referral relationships with medical community at-large; required
- Working knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, goal setting, and personnel management; required
- Working knowledge of computers and computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.); required
- Interaction with a patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics; required
