Summary/Objective

We are looking for a system administrator to join our IT team and manage our network, server, and desktop infrastructure. The System Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various systems and applications, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The System Administrator will also provide technical support and guidance to end-users and others, perform tier 2-3 issue resolutions with other IT staff.

Essential Functions

  • Install, configure, update, and monitor servers, network devices, firewalls, routers, switches, and other hardware and software components.
  • Perform regular backups and restore operations, as well as disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and standards and implement appropriate measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and cyberattacks.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior IT staff.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Provide end-user support and training on various systems and applications and respond to service requests and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions and recommend improvements and upgrades to existing systems and processes.
  • Actively participate in development and improvement of system monitoring.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and departments on various projects and initiatives.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of experience as a system administrator, network administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, and other network protocols and services.
  • Proficient in using various tools and technologies for system administration, such as PowerShell, VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, etc.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and managing various applications, such as Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Office 365, etc.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing retail-based or manufacturing-based supply chain and POS systems preferred.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or similar are preferred.
