Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Dosimetrist, under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicists, engages in treatment planning, patient and physician liaison and assists in equipment commissioning and monitoring health and safety regulations for the facility therapy services. This is a fully remote position. Shift requirement would be 0800 1630 CST, 5x8 hours, 40 hours/week
Minimum Qualification
Must be a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) and 2 years of experience as a Dosimetrist.
Description
Prepares radiation therapy treatment plans according to physicians dose prescription using computerized methods for review and approval by the physician and medical physicist. Calculates patient radiation therapy dose prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist using computer and hand-calculation techniques.
Prepare contours of areas to be planned and treated. Performs image fusions as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
Assists radiation therapists in the implementation of patient treatment plans. Performs/assists in patient simulation process. Positions patient in Computed Tomography for simulation if appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned. The Dosimetrist will perform SBRT, SRS, VMAT, IMRT, and 3D treatment planning.

Clinical experience in Radiation Therapy. - Required: 2 Years
Knowledge in the area of cancer, radiation biology, radiation therapy techniques, radiation oncology physic and equipment technology - Required
Knowledge in the area of radiation safety and protection, anatomy, mathematics and the psychosocial aspects of cancer - Required
