The Position:

The Senior Director of IT will lead our IT strategy, initiatives, and operations, ensuring the effective delivery of technology solutions to support the enterprise’s mission and objectives. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong communication and collaboration skills. Additionally, the Senior Director of IT will conduct risk assessments and operationalize cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive data and IT assets from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, both onshore and offshore, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Oversee budget planning and financial management in alignment with growth strategies.
  • Direct the development of IT sourcing strategy and provide executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management; manage and build strong external relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and strategic partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms to ensure value and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure. Plan and execute system upgrades, patch management, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Oversee network architecture and capacity design requirements to ensure that the business needs are met for our cloud-based infrastructure, primarily utilizing Microsoft Azure services.
  • Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, and monitoring on projects.
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's digital assets, systems, and data.
  • Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery plan to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity in the event of disruptions or disasters. Conduct system outage analysis to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
  • Own the design, implementation, and delivery of Managed Services on cloud platforms for external customers.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the acquisition, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT equipment, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Oversee help desk support for employee and infrastructure-related issues, including password resets, login issues, laptop problems, and IT questions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role within IT, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud-based infrastructure management, particularly with Microsoft Azure.
  • Extensive experience partnering with service providers, both infrastructure and applications. Proven ability to maximize value from these relationships by strategically selecting the right partners, negotiating contracts, and measuring and managing high performance with continued improvements.
  • Experience with offshoring and managing geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional and cross-geography teams.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing managed services.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based IT infrastructure, systems, security, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC2). Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., O365, Atlassian, etc.).
  • Customer service-oriented, with the ability to support a tiered ticketing support system.
  • Demonstrated success in managing service level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring high service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP) are a plus.
  • Location within the Wichita area is preferred.

Requirements

Education or Certifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • It is anticipated that an average work week will consist of 50 hours to accomplish the assigned duties
