Power Systems Weather Forecasting Analyst
Our client, a leader in the energy industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Power Systems Weather Forecasting Analyst to work on a 12-month contract position in Charlotte, NC. The pay rate is between $35/hour and $40/hour. This position is available for W-2 employment only and requires availability to work weekends and non-standard hours as needed. No travel is required.

Power Systems Weather Forecasting Analyst

Responsibilities:
- Forecast and monitor renewable energy resources on our client's system.
- Maintain databases for weather, renewable resources, generator outages, and other relevant data.
- Develop hypotheses and enhance solar forecast models using statistical and analytical techniques.
- Implement new analytics tools and retrain solar prediction models to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Provide technical expertise on onboarding variable energy resources and validate solar forecasts.
Experience Requirements:
- Strong skills in weather and renewable resource forecasting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL/Oracle, R-Studio, Python, or VBA.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and PowerBI.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology or equivalent education, training, or experience.
