Our client is a boutique primary market research firm dedicated to helping businesses uncover the key drivers behind customer decisions. They specialize in providing actionable insights into purchase motivations, current and future solution needs, customer loyalty, and retention factors.

Their team of experienced researchers employs a range of qualitative research methods, primarily one-on-one interviews, to help clients understand their current and future market, target customers, and reasons for churn and lost customers.

They are seeking a curious and driven market research interviewer to engage directly with their client's customers and end-users and uncover the motivations and perceptions that shape their experiences. You'll spend 80% of your time conducting in-depth interviews via phone and video conferencing, using your exceptional communication skills to build rapport and dig deeper into the "why" behind their choices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct 1:1 interviews with end-users and customers to gather rich qualitative insights into their use of our client's solutions.

• Ask probing questions to understand the motivations, pain points, and decision-making processes driving their behaviors.

• Prepare clear and concise interview summaries, providing key findings and verbatim quotes to support market research analysts in creating market and customer trend reports.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine research questions and interview guides.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to ensure research initiatives are relevant and impactful.

Must-Haves:

• Minimum of one year of experience conducting research interviews in a dedicated interviewing role

• Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and engage interviewees in meaningful conversations.

• Strong, active listening skills and the ability to ask insightful, follow-up questions to uncover deeper motivations and perceptions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player.

• Proficient in using video conferencing and other online communication tools.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, psychology, sociology, or a related field.

• Experience with qualitative data analysis tools and techniques.

• Familiarity with the technology or software industry.
