Project Description

For this important digital transformation project, RIVA is providing a modernized website digital experience solution, with the goal of increasing usability and customer interactions, leveraging user experience design, content strategy, and CMS (Drupal) development. Specifically, the key objectives of the solution include the following:

  • A modernized online presence and digital experience
  • Content delivery, utilizing structured content and taxonomy
  • Extraction, management, and display of data in multiple format
  • Modern, repeatable, and sustainable Agile best practices and CMS solutions, which automate and minimize or eliminate coding
  • Utilization of Agile processes, Human Centered Design (HCD), with extensive User and Stakeholder engagement

Position Description And Responsibilities

As a UX Research and Design Lead, the ideal candidate must have experience with the full user experience research and design lifecycle for business software applications and websites, from UX research, feature conception, wireframe/storyboard iteration, and UX prototyping.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply Human Centered Design (HCD) methodologies to conduct UX research with system end users and design user experiences that meet user needs
  • Synthesize customer requirements, user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints communicated by stakeholders to generate design artifacts that advance the user experience and promote usability
  • Create thoughtful and impactful UX design concepts, wireframes, flows, information architecture, prototypes, and UI patterns
  • Lead collaborative design reviews and conduct usability testing to refine UX design artifacts
  • Successfully communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed designs, rationale, and usage guidelines, both verbally and visually
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to refine the customer experience and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Interact extensively with customers and users, with a strong ability to make succinct and well-reasoned arguments for designs that benefit users
  • Work closely with software engineers to identify implementation approaches that balance user experience/usability goals with technical cost

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience conducting UX research and creating UX designs across a variety of digital channels
  • Experience reporting results of UX research using artifacts such as personas and journey maps
  • Fluency with wireframing tools (primarily Figma)
  • Full understanding of U.S. Web Design Standards and accessibility requirements
  • Agile and/or Lean knowledge and experience
  • Portfolio of UX design and research artifacts
  • Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule, including quickly turning around design artifacts such as user flow diagrams, prototypes, comps/mock-ups, interactive wireframes, etc.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills and extensive experience interacting with customers and users
  • Experience with working as part of a Scrum (or other agile methodology) development team
  • Ability to obtain a minimum of Public Trust Clearance
  • Experience creating UX designs for large-scale, enterprise websites with 25,000+ pages of content and complex business applications
  • In addition to UX design core skills, the ideal candidate will have experience designing journey maps, personas, and design-thinking artifacts

Salary Range: $100-$150k DOE
