Position Overview
The IT Business Analyst will serve as a critical link between the business and IT, working to ensure that business needs are translated into effective technology solutions. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement areas, oversee IT project implementations, and provide data-driven insights to aid decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to understand organizational challenges and needs.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Lead the implementation of IT solutions, from concept through project completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Create and deliver statistical reports and data insights to support executive decision-making processes.
- Address technical issues and coordinate with developers and IT teams to resolve system challenges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To successfully perform this role, candidates must meet the qualifications outlined below:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in IT business analysis or a related field.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to create data-driven solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of IT systems and applications, including project management experience.
- Ability to analyze complex data and present actionable insights.
- Capacity to manage projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
- Experience writing professional materials, such as speeches or articles, and presenting to senior management or public groups.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficiency in applying advanced mathematical concepts, such as exponents and permutations.
- Ability to use mathematical operations for tasks like frequency distribution and test reliability analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong analytical abilities to define problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and diagrams with accuracy.
Travel Requirements:
- Less than 10% travel is required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise levels, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
