- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
- Assist with Review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for new or existing chemicals and ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Program and GHS.
- Conduct personal noise dosimetry and update noise mapping in various departments throughout the mill.
- Actively guide and participate in efforts to promote safety awareness and increase proficiency in safe work practices.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Conduct a gap analysis while reviewing mill Safety Policies to ensure compliance with OSHA Regulations.
- Review, update and identify improvement opportunities in division safety metrics.
- Complete research projects at direction of Mill Safety Department related to OSHA regulations or other safety concerns to improve compliance or identify “Best Practices.”
- Work closely with the mill’s hourly Safety Advocate to increase employee participation in safety related activities.
- Conduct EHS inspections and audits.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Occupational Safety Undergraduate or Graduate program.
- Must be able to climb in/around production equipment
