Job Duties Include But Not Limited To

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
  • Assist with Review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for new or existing chemicals and ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Program and GHS.
  • Conduct personal noise dosimetry and update noise mapping in various departments throughout the mill.
  • Actively guide and participate in efforts to promote safety awareness and increase proficiency in safe work practices.
  • Participate in incident investigations.
  • Conduct a gap analysis while reviewing mill Safety Policies to ensure compliance with OSHA Regulations.
  • Review, update and identify improvement opportunities in division safety metrics.
  • Complete research projects at direction of Mill Safety Department related to OSHA regulations or other safety concerns to improve compliance or identify “Best Practices.”
  • Work closely with the mill’s hourly Safety Advocate to increase employee participation in safety related activities.
  • Conduct EHS inspections and audits.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Occupational Safety Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Must be able to climb in/around production equipment
