We are currently seeking an innovative Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer for Dimensional Plastics to contribute, promote, and drive best-in-class product quality through dimensional performance at the various stages of the product development process. This is a high-performance role that would have significant visibility both within and outside the organization and will require technical expertise, passion, and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence outcomes, work through complexity and fast-paced environment, and establish credibility with peers and senior management.

To ensure success, you should have deep professional technical experience implementing quality and reliability best practices, and innovations and ensure validation. You will combine your expertise to advance product excellence and innovation. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to lead teams and strive for product validation within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination and will have a strong track record of quality program management, preferably in an automotive or parallel industry environment.

You Will
  • Assist in the plant control plan development of all platforms to set, then continuously improving dimensional performance for KPIs 6 Sigma or better.
  • Develop reporting strategies from Suppliers to maintain dimensional performance and have data available for usage by internal teams.
  • Plan and lead product dimensional quality requirements at various product development stages taking handovers from design through floor implementation.
  • Collaborate and lead APQP, DFMEA, DVPR, DFQ/DFM reviews and validation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to achieve product excellence goals.
  • Manage and report performance metrics timely to diagnose and prioritize issues.
  • Contribute ideas and best practices to successful quality gates.
  • Facilitate and lead quality resolutions, innovations, and continual improvements.
  • Document processes and compliance with ISO9001, AIAG/ IATF16949, and ISO26262 industry standards.
  • Support Leading the development of dimensional validation process for different systems and subsystems within a given architecture at the supplier and participating in control plan development at the manufacturing site.
  • Support creating measurement point routines to validate critical requirements developed on drawings.
  • Support all platform milestone builds with dimensional data, analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Analyze data from supplier and assembly plant builds to assess the capability of meeting dimensional requirements required to complete all milestone builds.
  • Support assembly plant on all build issue resolution projects and quality improvement projects.
  • Maintain a list of critical product and process characteristics and control their geometry in vehicle builds to produce metal-formed components and dies.
  • Track and report on all program dimensional specification requirements and progress towards 100% compliance.
  • Drive recommendations to reduce variation and balance requirements in the final assembly of hard and soft plastic components.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training material within the assembly plant to inform production team members of quality control opportunities root causing dimensional issues and work with cross-functional teams to recommend and evaluate corrective actions.
  • Documenting quality issues and driving process standardization through world-class manufacturing methodologies. Interior and exterior dimensional validation, documenting and root cause findings from build issues and part variation.
  • Prepare dimensional improvement projects and coordinate with other groups if needed to drive to completion during non-productive hours.
  • Support Metrology experience with Scanner Romer Arm, CMM Statistical problem-solving techniques; Statistical process control - 6Sigma.
  • Support Quality Metrology Technician will ensure that all products meet customer and company requirements by performing inspections of individual components, stampings, castings, and supplier parts.
  • Programming and operation of stationary measurement equipment to support monitoring of production processes, commissioning of new production, and root cause activities.
  • Liaise with Production, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.

You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of Tooling, Design, or Dimensional Engineering Manager Experience (or 3+ with an advanced degree, e.g. Master of Science or higher)
  • 3+ years of advanced product quality (APQP) experience in technical program management.
  • OEM or Vehicle Dimensional Manager Experience is required.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred around metal forming (stamping, machining, extruding, OR casting) disciplines/departments
  • Advanced knowledge of the full life cycle of product quality gates during product development.
  • Practical Problem Solving, DFMEA, DFM, APQP, Lean Six Sigma, and ASQ CQA Certifications.
  • Exceptional timely communication and interpersonal skills.
