We seek a Senior Manager IT Systems to oversee the vendor performing all activities of the Data Center in a 24x7x365 operations environment, and to manage the relationship with the vendors in this environment.

The person in this role establishes and maintains operations policies, standards, and procedures to provide Data Center security and ensure integrity of the stored data. The Sr. Manager is also responsible for the transfer of all records for HIPAA compliance and audit.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage the Montefiore Medical Center Data Centers, leading vendor staff, monitoring vendor adherence to Service Level Agreements, capacity, trending, and availability.
  • Oversee batch and online systems monitoring, data center environmental oversight, physical security, problem and change documentation, report printing, electronic media handling (storage/destruction) and problem escalation.
  • Participate in Change Control committee and oversight.
  • Oversee application and production control ensuring all jobs are producing the intended results.
  • Approve and monitor the Data Center scheduled activities via CA Service Manager Change process and coordinate activities with Technicians and Support personnel.
  • Conduct daily checks of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure supporting the data centers.
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems are optimized for efficiency.
  • Monitor all technology/systems and communicate maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate shift and staff schedules for 24x7x365 coverage.
  • Develop operational standards.
  • Maintain operational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery plans and procedures.
  • Manage off-site media storage facilities to ensure proper audit trails and backups are in
  • Manage hosting financials: track budgetary expense and funding for equipment, installation, supplies and technical support.


Requirements include:
  • 5+ years managing data center operations including working with vendors.
  • Solid experience in overseeing Data Center MEP.
  • Experience in DCIM tools.
  • Exposure to AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (CA SOI, Spectrum, UIM, SolarWinds, etc.)
  • Technical expertise across various technology disciplines (Microsoft, Unix, Storage, Network, etc.) to resolve complex infrastructure integration issues and problems.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, in technical and non-technical topics
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Reliable transportation to travel among Montefiore sites.
