Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Management: Lead the management and optimization of applications, databases, and infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC.
  • Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Terraform and Python to streamline deployment and management processes.
  • Platform Maintenance: Manage and maintain AWS environments to ensure their reliability, performance, and security. Handle updates, patches, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • IAM Familiarity: Work with IAM teams to configure and manage user permissions and roles.
  • Operational Support: Provide ongoing support for cloud platforms, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance across production environments.
  • Stand-alone Procedures: Design and execute stand-alone procedures for provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud resources.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC), Security Operations Center (SOC), and Incident Risk Management teams to ensure alignment with security protocols and operational efficiency.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed documentation for cloud infrastructure, management processes, and maintenance activities. Provide regular status reports to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience as an Engineer with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC.
  • Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
  • Platform Maintenance: Proven experience in maintaining and optimizing cloud platforms in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 500).
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture, and best practices for deploying and managing AWS platforms.
  • IAM Knowledge: Familiarity with IAM roles and policies to manage secure access and permissions.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Documentation: Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or similar certification is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS Systems Manager (SSM) for automation and management of cloud resources is a big PLUS
  • Experience with EC2, Terraform, Python, S3 Buckets, RDS, IAM, and VPC
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises systems.
  • Experience working with NOC, SOC, and Incident Risk Management teams in a large enterprise setting.
