Position Summary

The Marketing Technology Specialist contributes the implementation, management, and optimization of marketing technology platforms to support Rowan University's strategic marketing initiatives. The specialist will work closely with the digital marketing team to ensure that technology solutions, including Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and marketing automation tools, are effectively utilized to enhance campaign performance. The Marketing Technology Specialist will also serve as the primary representative for all marketing technology solutions, ensuring seamless integration, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, this role will lead and develop training programs to empower the team in the effective use of these tools.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage marketing technology solutions, such as CDPs, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools, to support digital marketing efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to marketing tools, ensuring minimal disruption to campaign execution.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to optimize the usage of marketing technology, driving improved campaign performance and efficiency.
  • Analyze data from marketing technology platforms to support strategic decision-making and enhance overall marketing strategy.
  • Stay updated on new features, advancements, and best practices in marketing technology to continuously improve the team's capabilities.
  • Lead or create training programs for marketing technology solutions, ensuring that team members are proficient and confident in using these tools.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the marketing team and technology vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of marketing technology implementations, providing recommendations for improvements and upgrades as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with University policies and data privacy regulations in all marketing technology activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with marketing technology platforms, including CDPs, CRMs, and marketing automation tools.
  • Strong technical skills and experience in troubleshooting and resolving technology-related issues.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices in marketing technology.

Preferred

  • Certifications in relevant marketing technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience with CDP platforms such as BlueConic, Twilio Segment or Optimove.
  • Experience in leading training programs or workshops.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana, Basecamp).
