The opportunity is fully remote.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer to manage and maintain over 20 carrier-grade network firewalls for a national telecommunications company. This is a remote opportunity, and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in firewall traffic analysis, policy creation, and change management. The role will involve providing consultative advice on security best practices, assisting in project planning, and maintaining standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Configure, operate, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls to meet organizational needs.

• Create and optimize Palo Alto firewall rules and policies.

• Offer expert advice on security principles and best practices.

• Collaborate in project planning and participate in working group meetings.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for firewall operations.

• Assist with incident response by working with cybersecurity and IT teams.

• Design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) across Palo Alto devices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (preferred).

• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience.

• At least 4 years of experience managing Palo Alto firewalls.

• In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto hardware and features (e.g., Panorama, VPN, GlobalProtect, Threat Prevention, High Availability, etc.).

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

• One or more of the following certifications preferred:

• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)

• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
