Overview: We are seeking a skilled Java Production Support Engineer with expertise in Kafka to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of our production systems. You will work closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Java applications and Kafka messaging systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Support: Monitor and maintain Java-based applications in a production environment. Identify and resolve performance issues, bugs, and outages.
  • Kafka Management: Manage and support Kafka clusters, including monitoring, configuration, and optimization. Troubleshoot Kafka-related issues and ensure data integrity and message delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to understand application functionalities and address issues that arise. Provide guidance on best practices for Kafka integration.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to support processes, incident resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving system performance and stability. Propose and implement enhancements to existing processes and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in Java application support and Kafka administration. Experience in a production support role is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Java programming and debugging.
    • Experience with Kafka cluster setup, configuration, and monitoring.
    • Familiarity with related technologies such as Zookeeper, SQL/NoSQL databases, and RESTful APIs.
    • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
