We are seeking a Data Scientist to spearhead a crucial project aimed at digitizing and structuring documentation received from inventory vendors during distribution center deliveries. Your role will involve converting paper documents with printed/handwritten text into digital format and structuring item quantity data effectively. Subsequently, you will develop and deploy a model on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to identify and flag discrepancies between the quantities received and those promised by vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Document Digitization: Utilize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to accurately convert and structure paper documents into digital formats.
* Data Structuring: Organize extracted data into a structured database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Model Development: Design, build, and deploy a machine learning model on Google Cloud Platform to detect discrepancies in item quantities. Leverage computer vision and LLMs to enhance model performance.
* Integration: Work closely with IT, Data Engineering and operations teams to integrate the model with existing systems and workflows.
* Testing and Validation: Continuously test and refine the model to improve accuracy and efficiency. Analyze results and provide actionable insights.
* Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of the model development process and ensure knowledge transfer to relevant teams.
Required Technical Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
* Experience: Proven experience in document digitization, OCR, NLP, and building machine learning models, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, Keras, and Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, AutoML, and Cloud Storage. Experience with computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV) and NLP frameworks.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
