Job Details

The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is a skilled professional responsible for managing the daily engineering activities while directing the maintenance of all the different types of machinery, equipment and plant manufacturing processes. The position is responsible for developing preventive and predictive maintenance procedures and inspections for all manufacturing equipment to eliminate or minimize machine downtime. They must ensure that plant maintenance craft and contractors are trained to respond to emergencies and follow all the processes that are documented within the plant's policies and regulatory compliance. The Engineering and Maintenance Manager oversees the implementation of capital projects and creates budgets to manage expenditures related to equipment installations and upgrades.

Job Description

Ensuring the best practices to operate the machinery safely and efficiently.
Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment to include automated and PLC controlled systems.
Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
Develop program to procure, organize and maintain recommended spare parts.
Ensure all maintenance work is properly tracked and documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.
Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance system to improve machine uptime.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of mechanical and electrical job assignment.
Interprets Company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations and performance expectations within a unionized environment.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crews.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Preparation of engineering and maintenance budget for including major expense planning, emergency and routine maintenance, preventive maintenance and machine lubrication, to ensure achievement of budget goals through regular review and reporting.

Job Requirements

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial equipment
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of five years' experience in engineering or maintenance management role
Proficient in capital project management and budgeting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong adaptability and capacity to work in a 24/7 fast-paced environment and meet all established deadlines
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs
Proficiency in CMMS systems
Operating knowledge and experience of design software and engineering tools
Knowledge and experience in ERP systems, D365 preferred
