This position requires an experienced professional with a responsibility for managing the design and development of the Exterior Trim systems of a world-class vehicle in terms of performance, reliability and Craftsmanship. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Responsibilities
  • Having proven leadership experience, you will help to Build, lead, and mentor a world-class Exterior Trim engineering team.
  • Equally comfortable creating concept to supporting parts into production to create industry-leading Premium Exterior Trim.
  • Working closely with Design Studio and collaboratively with cross functional teams to implement the best in class Exteriors.
  • Collaborate with Tier 1 and directed suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery.
  • Working with the Project team to ensure on time delivery and cost targets are met
  • Reporting to Director of Body Engineering and required to present to Executive team
  • Participate in defining technical and design verification requirements
  • Participate in the creation of validation test plans and ensure EU/China regulatory compliance.

  • As an Engineering Manager in the Exteriors team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and delivering systems that meet vehicle performance requirements
  • Exterior systems include Glass, Bumper Fascia, Grills, Front End modules, Side Trim & Moldings, Appliques, Spoiler and Liftgate Trims, Fenders, Underbody, Mirrors and some mechanisms.


Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of hands on experience in Automotive and exterior engineering including leading a team of multi-discipline engineers demonstrating the ability to be detail oriented.
  • Full program cycle experiences from concept to production launch in Exterior Trim development
  • Ability to create/improve/establish technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP
  • Experienced in using CAD to review drawings, packaging layouts, and DFM studies with the ability to create simple sections and CAD forms.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Vehicle and product launch experience.
  • Experience in the design and development of Exterior components with a good understanding of materials, Injection molding/ Vacuum forming/Encapsulation/Decorative processes and light weighting strategies.
  • Knowledgeable of Exterior regulations and requirements for worldwide markets with good experience with safety requirements including Pedestrian Protection
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, GD&T, DVP Creation
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint


Advantageous
  • Design experience operating with CATIA V6 3DExperience
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skill


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Science in relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering required
  • Master's degree in Science in relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering a plus


Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$156,600 - $229,680 USD
