<>Role Overview:</>

The Level 3 Firewall Engineer, under the direction of the Section Head, Gateway Security Services, will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Build, implement, maintain, and support firewalls and other network security devices.
• Administer and configure firewalls centrally to ensure continuous functionality and availability.
• Implement and verify firewall policies/rulesets.
• Set up, configure, and integrate new firewalls into the central management tools.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting infrastructure and operational issues and collaborate with other teams for resolution.
• Work with Infrastructure Management and Cyber Security teams on firewall and network security initiatives.
• Assist Incident Handlers in identifying and remediating security incidents.
• Review security documentation and offer technical advice when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

<>Required Qualifications & Skills:</>

• Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and Palo Alto Networks Panorama for enterprise-level deployments.
• Experience in firewall installation and management across various vendors.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols and traffic analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.
• Expertise in LAN/WAN networking, including protocol network architecture and vulnerabilities of modern operating systems and applications.
• In-depth understanding of TCP/IP protocols and services.
• Working knowledge of Unix-based Operating Systems.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to convey complex technical issues to diverse audiences.

<>Desirable Qualifications:</>

• Understanding of Information Security Practices, including the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) triad.
• Previous experience in an international environment, working with both military and civilian personnel.
• Industry-leading cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, MCSE/S, CISA, GSNA, or SANS GIAC.
