Description
Hui Huliau Technology Services is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to work on the Health Data Management Project supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge ensuring secure coding guidelines and a strong understanding of release workflow throughout the development, test, and preproduction environments. As part of our remote team, you will deploy to all environments using Jenkins, support development teams using Jenkins, guide teams on automation best practices, and help transform uncontrolled environments into controlled ones.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Principal Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, document, automate, implement, and maintain configuration management processes (build, release, version control, branching, and merging).
  • Take the lead in code Synchronizations across all environments and to implement automated API testing strategy using SOAPUI, Jenkins, Python, and Selenium.
  • Perform automated builds for the releases in scope.
  • Manage the software integration/system test/production builds.
  • Identify and create processes for branch automation for software releases and software deliverables.
  • Work with project teams to create build release schedules and own the packaging and build process.
  • Implement GitHub processes including versioning, tagging, branching strategies, GitHub hooks and submodules.
  • Assemble data on release metrics, oversee the source code management system, such as git, svn.
  • Maintain multiple build environments, and document steps relating to the release process.
  • Manage release communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and develop configuration management plan, mature CI/CD to incorporate automated testing in Jenkins and perform validation checks post deployments.

Position Requirements
Education and Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Technical related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools, and automation.
  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of Software Configuration processes, procedures, software tools, and databases.
  • Strong experience working on multiple platforms, primarily, UNIX environments and navigating UNIX.
  • SME in git / bash scripts.
  • Experience and strong understanding of Jenkins and SSH access - Automation and manual deployments.
  • Experience utilizing tools across various platforms and environments such as Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, Confluence, Kubernetes, Jira, AppDynamics, etc.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing with the client and team members, including experience documenting and presenting findings.


Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.
  • Familiarity with VA environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HealthShare Management Portal is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
