Job Description: -

We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage and Backup Specialist to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have 12 years of hands-on experience in managing storage solutions and backup strategies, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of various storage technologies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Storage Management:

  • Design, implement, and manage SAN, NAS, and DAS solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Administer and configure storage virtualization technologies.
  • Monitor and optimize storage performance and capacity planning.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Develop, implement, and manage backup strategies using tools like Veritas NetBackup, Veeam Backup & Replication, Commvault, or IBM Spectrum Protect.
  • Oversee data backup and recovery processes, including disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Implement data deduplication and compression techniques to optimize backup storage.

Cloud Integration:

  • Manage cloud storage solutions and integrate them with on-premises storage environments.
  • Develop and maintain hybrid cloud backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Systems Administration:

  • Support various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, UNIX) and databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) in relation to storage and backup.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage and backup-related issues.

Project Management:

  • Lead storage and backup projects, including planning, execution, and resource management.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement new storage and backup technologies.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for storage configurations, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Generate regular reports on storage and backup performance and status.

Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with storage and backup vendors, including negotiating contracts and evaluating service levels.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 12 years of experience in storage and backup management, including SAN, NAS, DAS, and cloud storage solutions.
  • Extensive experience with backup software such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault, or IBM Spectrum Protect.
  • Proven track record in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing cloud-based backup solutions and integrating them with on-premises systems.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Storage Engineer (e.g., EMC, NetApp)
  • Certified Backup Professional (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
  • Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified)
