Position Overview
We are looking for an accomplished Engineering Manager to head our Product Validation team for hardware wearables. This position focuses on leading validation efforts for advanced wearable devices, requiring a strong blend of hardware engineering expertise, team leadership, and product testing knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead a team of engineers and specialists in product validation.
  • Oversee performance management by setting clear goals, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting career growth.
  • Cultivate an innovative, inclusive, and collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Create and implement training programs to equip the team with necessary skills and knowledge.

Product Validation & Strategy:

  • Guide the creation of robust validation plans to ensure wearable hardware meets quality and reliability standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams during the prototype phase to integrate validation early into development.
  • Oversee the documentation of validation plans, protocols, and reports, ensuring all technical risks are addressed.
  • Identify and manage potential risks in product testing and validation phases.

Automation & Testing Infrastructure:

  • Build and maintain automated testing systems and processes to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with software teams to design automated test scripts and frameworks.

Testing & Issue Resolution:

  • Lead efforts to design and execute tests to uncover potential hardware issues.
  • Ensure timely troubleshooting and resolution of any problems discovered during validation.
  • Oversee the documentation and resolution of all product issues prior to launch.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly review and enhance validation techniques to boost product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Introduce modern validation tools and best practices into the process.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Partner with product management, engineering, and quality assurance teams to align validation activities with overall project goals.
  • Communicate testing results and offer recommendations based on findings to stakeholders.

Project & Resource Management:

  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring tasks and resources are properly prioritized to meet deadlines.
  • Track and allocate resources as necessary for project success.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts, project progress, and results to non-technical team members.
  • Work with other teams such as sales, infrastructure support, and operations to ensure smooth collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in hardware engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams and leading hardware validation efforts, ideally with wearables.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and product development principles.
  • Proficiency with validation tools and testing software.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Expertise:

  • Specialized knowledge in areas like audio, camera systems, displays, or connectivity.
  • Experience managing projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Program management skills.
