Lead Software Engineer (T5)
We're looking for an experienced engineer who will apply engineering best practices to maintain and enhance our Enterprise Search platform(s) utilized by the organization s critical business applications. The role requires an agile engineering mindset, patience and persistence to solve complex problems, team leadership skills, and an aptitude to learn new technologies to apply to real-world problems. In an Agile Software Engineering environment, you will move between diverse tasks, focusing on design, development, and DevOps practices, while providing technical leadership and helping to bring out the best in those around you.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Implements holistic solutions utilizing working relationships across the enterprise.
Designs, organizes, and executes high impact solutions across teams both within and outside their division.
Establishes, aggregates, and shares enterprise standards and best practices.
Mentors and guides junior engineers within respective division.
Ensures production stability, monitoring, and root cause analysis is executed for their products.
Partners with business domain experts to set the product priorities and roadmap.
Maintains and enhances product and technical documentation.
Explores unfamiliar or emerging technologies that may apply to their product domain.
Participates in regular meetings with outside vendors as a technical leader.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
6-8 years of professional experience required.
5+ years of experience leading teams using modern engineering tools, languages, and practices.
Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering significant and impactful technology solutions.
Experience developing and leading solution delivery using agile methods.
Expert for the organization in one or more technologies: Search technologies (solr, elasticsearch, vector databases, etc.), JavaScript, Python, API development, Generative AI.
Experience with Cloud architecture and technologies.
Successfully deals with ambiguity.
Recognized as the go-to expert within the division or department.
Ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail.
Solid understanding of design patterns and software architecture.
Aptitude for quickly learning new or unfamiliar technologies.
