Job Description:

The Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for researching, planning, and installing enterprise networking and software solutions that support critical life safety systems for the public. The role will involve assessing existing infrastructure, making technical recommendations, and supporting network and system installations to ensure optimal functionality and security. This position requires hands-on expertise in network administration, infrastructure design, and system support, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team within the Transportation Operations Center.

### Key Responsibilities:

- Research, plan, and implement networking and software enterprise solutions to meet business and operational needs.

- Assess existing systems, identify improvements, and recommend solutions based on product specifications and cybersecurity best practices.

- Configure and install network equipment and software solutions, documenting changes for future reference and support.

- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for network and software issues, ensuring timely resolution of break/fix requests.

- Collaborate with team members to extend and optimize the campus network and deploy new hardware and communications infrastructure.

- Maintain and update network architecture documentation, project records, and inventory for hardware and software assets.

- Monitor network performance, identifying and addressing traffic anomalies or connection issues.

- Assist with the design and configuration of firewalls, VPN, and remote access technologies.

- Support efforts to improve cybersecurity controls, participate in threat hunting, and contribute to security mitigation efforts.

- Assist with ITS Field Maintenance for communication system troubleshooting and maintenance.

### Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Education: 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Certifications: Industry certifications (e.g., Cisco, Network+, Security+) strongly preferred.

- Experience: 6-10 years of experience in networking and infrastructure support.

- Networking Expertise:

- 5+ years of experience with Cisco Routing and Switching.

- 5+ years of experience in VLAN Management.

- 5+ years of experience in subnetting.

- 4+ years of experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.).

- 2+ years of experience with authentication protocols (RADIUS, TACACS).

- 5+ years of firewall administration experience.

- 2+ years of experience with VPN and Remote Access Technologies.

- Network Security: 2+ years of experience with network security measures (highly desired).

### Preferred Skills:

- Experience with DNS/DHCP, network monitoring, and network cable management (nice to have).

- Familiarity with FMC/Firepower, solutions design, and software integration (nice to have).

- Strong troubleshooting skills in integration and cybersecurity.

### Key Competencies:

- Ability to work independently on medium-complexity projects while collaborating with a larger team.

- Strong multitasking skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges.

- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
