QA Automation Developer

Job Description

QA Automation Development team supporting automation of smoke, regression, integration, and security tests for client's projects. Works independently and with guidance from Sr. Automation Developer to develop comprehensive automation suites per application area, following the overall *** Test Automation Framework.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand solution requirements, architecture, technical designs, and processes
• Define and communicate automation testing strategy
• Create automation test plans and develop initial testing harness
• Ensure automated testing meets agreed standards and acceptance criteria
• Liaise with management and IT disciplines to meet automation objectives
• Participate in customer and subcontractor meetings as required
• Report on testing activities and identify/correct deviations from plans
• Perform automated functional, system, integration, and regression testing
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written and oral form
• Implement automated test practices using Selenium-JAVA, TestNG, and Tricentis TOSCA
• Design and create test automation scripts using various technologies
• Work with management to define strategy and processes for automation implementation and maintenance
• Participate in product design reviews
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years related work experience beyond degree requirements

Preferred Technical Skills

• Oracle RDBMS, including PL/SQL competency
• Tricentis qTest and JIRA
• Experience with TOSCA test automation tool
• Experience with Java-based automated testing frameworks (Selenium preferred)
• Java unit testing frameworks (TestNG preferred)
• Web application performance testing experience (LoadRunner, Apache JMeter, or Tricentis Neo Load preferred)
• Software development life cycle practices
• General Software Quality Assurance/Quality Control techniques and standards

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or related field, or eight years of applicable experience
