Job Description:

Leapcodes is seeking a qualified IT Engineer to join our managed services team for our client in New Jersey, USA(On-site). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing physical IT infrastructure, providing L1 IT support, and working closely with the remote team in India to ensure the smooth operation of IT services. This role requires strong experience in IT asset management, Active Directory (AD), O365 administration, and basic troubleshooting skills.

The engineer will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues at the New Jersey office of our client and will coordinate with the remote help desk team to ensure quick and effective resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Asset Management:

  • Manage, track, and update the inventory of IT assets including hardware and software.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Coordinate procurement and disposal of IT assets as per company policy.

L1 ITSM & Help Desk Support:

  • Provide onsite support for IT-related incidents and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to the remote L2/L3 support teams as required.

Office 365 Management:

  • Assist in O365 user license provisioning and renewal.
  • Manage user accounts, email configurations, and handle basic Office 365 administrative tasks.

Active Directory (AD) Management:

  • Perform user provisioning and de-provisioning, password resets, and group policy management.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies related to AD.

Physical IT Equipment Management:

  • Set up, configure, and maintain physical IT equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, etc.).
  • Handle onsite troubleshooting of network issues (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi).
  • Maintain records of equipment allocation and usage.

Collaboration with Remote Team:

  • Work closely with the remote IT support team to resolve technical issues.
  • Follow established processes for ticketing, reporting, and issue resolution.

Key Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or related roles.
  • Proven experience with Active Directory management and Office 365 administration.
  • Experience in managing and troubleshooting IT hardware and network equipment.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management systems and tools.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and network configurations.
  • Experience with O365 user and license management.
  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory user management and group policies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting IT hardware and software issues.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with a remote team.
  • Problem-solving attitude with the ability to handle pressure.

Visa Requirement: Must hold a valid US Visa (Work authorization).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals certifications are a plus.
  • Certifications in Microsoft 365 or Active Directory are preferred.

Experience with ITSM Tools:

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, WHMCS, Site 24/7, or Jira for IT service management.

Additional Information:

  • Work Hours: Full-time position with normal business hours. Occasional after-hours support may be required.
  • Location: This role is based on site in New Jersey, USA.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel outside of New Jersey, unless required for specific client requests.
