Medical Office Assistant

As directed by the physician, responsible for rendering professional clinical assistance to patients within the medical practice in support of the physician(s). Functions as a combination of Medical Assistant and Patient Account Representative. Works directly with a provider as a liaison between the patient and provider. The individual will be responsible for the scheduling, obtaining authorizations/pre-certs and coordinating charge entry processing for the physician. The individual will be responsible for answering inquiries from patients and insurance companies in a professional manner.

Educational And/or Professional Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program is preferred.
  
  

Previous Experience:

• Two years prior experience working in a medical office required.
  
  

Other Special Training or Skills:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to learn quickly from oral and written instructions.
• Typing skills required.
• Ability to keep financial records and performs mathematical tasks
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
