Our client a top retail and ecommerce company is seeking a Product Development Assistant to join their team! This is a part-time contract position, working onsite in Pittsburgh, PA.

As the Product Development Assistant you would support the Color Specialist in managing the review and processing of physical color submissions. This role involves maintaining accurate records, data entry, and assisting with the preparation of materials for color reviews. The ideal candidate will have an interest in fashion, design, art, or textiles, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Filing and Organization:
  • Maintain and organize physical color submission samples.
  • Assist in managing the flow of color submissions by keeping records up to date and ensuring all submissions are properly organized for review.
  • Data Entry & Management:
  • Enter color disposition comments and other relevant data into an online color application with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Look up relevant information within the system to ensure all submission records are accurate and complete.
  • Assist in generating reports related to color submissions and reviews as needed.
  • Support for Color Reviews:
  • Collaborate closely with the Color Specialist to prepare submissions for color reviews, including gathering relevant materials and information.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work independently and with cross-functional teams to ensure color submission processes are smooth and efficient.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks:
  • Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks as needed to support the Color Specialist and broader team, including administrative duties.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience:
  • A degree or experience in fashion, apparel, design, or textiles is highly valued but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with data entry, maintaining records, and using online applications
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge or interest in color theory, fashion, or design trends is a plus.

Preferred Qualities:

  • High level of responsibility and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and cross-functional departments.
