Position Purpose

The IT Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, supporting, and securing GOAL Academy IT network assets. This position will also provide end-user support to staff and students using GOAL Academy-issued technology and ensure the security of the network.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide primary end-user support for users and students working with GOAL Academy network assets, including site networks, SSID’s, mobile internet, Cisco Meraki network technologies, and phone/PBX services.
  • Install, maintain, and update site networking assets at GOAL Academy locations.
  • Assist the Infrastructure team with repairing and maintaining GOAL Academy IT assets, including computers and mobile devices for both staff and students.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 networking support to GOAL Academy locations.
  • Provide recommendations to the Cybersecurity and Network Manager on system efficiencies and necessary upgrade pathways.
  • Perform network upgrades and enhancements in partnership with the IT Network Generalist, contractors and 3rd party providers.
  • Adhere to GOAL’s SLA standard for help desk tickets and perform Tier 1-2 service assistance for all IT infrastructure issues as needed.
  • Assist the Cybersecurity and Network Manager in responding to network security alerts, threat hunting, and other essential duties assigned to ensure full network security and compliance across the organization.
  • Follow established best practice procedures with respect to end-user networking components.
  • Provide networking support to student-issued laptops, including cellular/hotspot and Wi-Fi support.
  • Provide mentoring and support to the GOAL Academy Student Support desks and interns.
  • Partner with the IT Compliance Generalist to ensure proper network documentation for all GOAL Academy network assets.
  • Partner with the GOAL Operations Team to assist with installation and maintenance of physical security and access control systems.
  • Provide networking support to sites for advanced services, such as eSports and AR/VR.
  • Communicate with ISPs to troubleshoot and resolve outages, ensuring sites return to functioning status promptly.
  • Commute to install and maintain Ethernet and Fiber cabling in all GOAL facilities.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ability to treat sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Any additional reporting required by the Chief Information Officer.
  • Up to 50% travel required, in-state only.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Must reside in Colorado
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 1-5 years of experience working in the IT industry.
  • 1-3 years of experience in end-user support.
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT Networking.

Certifications Required

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent. Or able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
