Description:
The Systems Engineer, IT Store Systems & Solutions, manages software distribution, patch management, scripting for data analytics and automation, problem management, and the implementation of new technologies. This role requires strong technical skills in retail/dining systems and excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional environment. Role is located in Smyrna Georgia (Atlanta)

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $55 - $65 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • System Health & Maintenance: Define and monitor KPIs, implement preventative measures, and manage preventive maintenance.
  • Data Analysis & Scripting: Utilize scripting for data collection and in-depth analysis to prioritize problem resolutions.
  • Software Distribution & Patching: Oversee software distribution and Windows patching, ensuring system functionality post-deployment.
  • Disaster Recovery: Define processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with offshore vendors on QA plans and testing, and implement changes in production.
  • Equipment & System Management: Investigate equipment failures, create models/diagrams, and document systems.
  • POS Integration: Understand and integrate POS interfaces with central systems and payment processors.
  • Prototyping & Configuration: Create gold images, build prototypes, and manage staging/configuration processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead teams in identifying trends, root causes, and solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Integrate POS systems with business applications and backend databases.
  • Technical Support: Provide support and training to Store Systems and Store Support Analysts.
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on industry trends to improve POS system design and implementation.


Experience Requirements:
  • Documentation & Training: Write and review technical documentation and present training at multiple technical levels.
  • Technical Knowledge: Broad knowledge of Store Systems hardware/software, including POS, peripherals, and mobile solutions.
  • ITIL Framework: Understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Deployment Management.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft SQL, database management, Azure, payment solutions, software distribution, and patch management tools.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium).
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with retail and dining industry best practices and Store Operations business processes.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent multitasking, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work independently and in a team, aligning business goals with technical solutions.
  • Customer Support: Act as an expert on the company's services and products, providing support and clear communication.
  • Strong technical experience in testing, design, and support.
  • Can-do attitude and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.


Education Requirements:
B.S. in engineering, computer science, networking, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
