IBM MQ Administrator

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Administrator to manage and configure IBM MQ middleware to ensure smooth messaging between applications.. The ideal candidate will ensure the right installation & configuration, availability, performance, and security of our IBM MQ environments, providing support for application integration and messaging requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Configuration & Administration: Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ software and related components across various environments. And configure security features such as SSL/TLS encryption and authentication.
Monitoring & Tuning: Continuously monitor the health and performance of IBM MQ queues, channels, and other resources, responding to alerts and issues proactively. Perform tuning and optimization to ensure smooth message flow and low-latency communication.
Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve messaging-related issues, providing timely support for applications relying on IBM MQ.
Backup & Recovery: Set up high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for MQ environments. Implement regular backup and restore processes for MQ objects and messages.
Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and other IT teams to support integration projects and resolve technical challenges.
Upgrades & Patching: Manage upgrades and patching of IBM MQ environments in line with best practices and company policies.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as an IBM MQ Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of IBM MQ architecture, installation, and configuration.
Experience with messaging protocols and formats (JMS & AMQP).
Familiarity with SSL/TLS certificates, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
Experience with cloud environments and containerized IBM MQ instances (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:
IBM MQ certification.
Familiarity with other middleware technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Experience with monitoring and management tools for MQ.
